Family and history define Santomauro General Contracting, LLC. Formed in 1949, Santomauro has grown into a renowned General Construction and Development Company in Jersey City today.
Billy Santomauro is a third generation owner of Santomauro General Contracting. but he continues to commit to the standard of excellence established at the origin. The company’s mission is to provide prospective home purchasers with innovative, desirable, and value enhanced residences in urban settings.
Billy understood the building industry from an early age, watching his Grandfather, a seasoned painting contractor, and later his Uncle James Santomauro, refresh and renew buildings. He joined James in 1994. The two began buying and renovating two-family homes, combining each home’s unique character with the most up to date features and details. This blend of old and new created a perfect niche for Santomauro General Contracting and has propelled them as a chosen firm for numerous public projects.
To Billy’s credit are numerous new construction buildings, renovations, additions, and restorations in cities across New Jersey. Santomauro General Contracting, LLC takes pride in its ability to create new space for today’s urban dwellers.
One common thread found in every project completed by Santomauro General Contracting, LLC is the attention to detail provided by their team of seasoned professionals. From restoration of historical facades, to the incorporation of a garden terrace, to the moldings and details found inside residences, each building becomes a testament to their commitment to each homeowner’s lifestyle needs.

Billy Santomauro, Owner
Billy Santomauro is the owner of Santomauro General Contracting, LLC, based in Jersey City. Billy graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from New York University’s Gallatin School with a concentration in Science and Construction Management. Additionally, he served as a four-year captain of NYU’s Swim Team. Billy continued to further his education by achieving the level of Construction Official in the Building and Fire Disciplines. He currently serves on the Jersey City Board of Appeals, is a Construction Expert for Arbitration and Legal disputes, and is a member of the Dante Alighieri Society. Billy’s life goal has been to provide his community with affordable, high quality real estate rentals and sales, by way of both rehabilitations and new construction. He began this quest under the loving support of his mother and the tutelage of his family. Family values have been important guides for Billy and he is honored to be a local developer and builder in Jersey City, where he continues to reside with his wife Vivian, son William, and daughter Sofia. As his mission statement reads, "a home is created by the evolution of life, we understand this - to supply the environment that houses these memories is what is most important”.
Mike McGlone, Construction
Mike is an NYU Graduate in Construction Management. He has worked as Project Manager for Toll Brothers and is the Founder and CFO of CPM Builders.
Mario Szczepanek, Construction
Mario is a second generation Jersey City Master Carpenter with over 20 years of experience and over 500 projects under his belt.
Nick Colao, Construction
Nick is second generation Jersey City plumber with residential, commercial, and industrial experience in all aspects of construction.
Vivian Santomauro, Management
Vivian is a Saint John's University Graduate in Business Administration. She is a Former Insurance Specialist.
